A new type of current account that replaces the usual credit interest payments with rewards, plus overdrafts will be subject to fixed daily fees rather than overdraft interest. A reward of £5 will be paid each month that £1,000 or more is paid into the account whether the account is in credit or overdrawn. Fees will be charged daily for arranged and unarranged overdrafts and as these are charged on the account instead of interest the typical rate is 0% EAR.
