Applicants must earn at least £12,000 a year, be at least 21 years old, currently hold a credit or debit card and be a homeowner. The Classic card is provided by The Co-operative Bank. Introductory rate applies to balance transfers and purchases for the first 6 months. There is a handling fee on balance transfers of 2.5% (minimum £5) during promotional periods only and on credit card cheques of 2% (minimum £2, maximum £25). After the 6 months intro period for purchases there is an interest free period of up to 59 days for purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time. Interest on cash will be charged on a daily basis from the date of transaction even if account is cleared in full each month. Interest on balance transfers will be charged on a daily basis from the end of any intro period. For full details of how payments received are applied to your account please refer to the credit card agreement terms and conditions. There will be a default charge of £12 if your payment is received after the due date, for exceeding the credit limit and for any uncleared payment cheques and £30 for bank activated stop on credit card cheques (exceeds limit).
