| Introductory rate applies for 6 months from account opening on balance transfers and on purchases. No charges for credit card cheques, foreign currency transactions and cash transactions (some independant ATM providers may charge a fee for cash withdrawals). Charge for balance transfers is 3% (min £5) but if a Santander or Alliance and Leicester current account, mortgage or investment product is held the fee will be nil for the first 3 months from opening the account and 3% (min £0) thereafter. Optional payment protection. Account management available online. No annual fee. After the 6 months intro period for purchases there is an interest free period of up to 56 days for purchases, if you pay your balance in full and on time. Interest on cash will be charged on a daily basis from the date transaction is debited to your account until repaid in full. Interest on balance transfers will be charged on a daily basis from the end of any intro period. A default charge of £12 will apply if you exceed credit limit, make a late payment or if your payment is returned.
