American Express launches reward credit card

American Express will be launching a new credit card today (December 2nd) which allows shoppers to gain reward points for their purchases. These points are redeemable at several high street stores and will provide shoppers with vouchers and gift cards. Retailers such as House of Fraser, Amazon, Boots, Homebase and Harrods are among those taking part in the scheme. Katrina Cliffe, head of consumer cards at American Express, said that the company's "credit card reward programme is one of the most generous on the market". She added: "As much of the UK's shopping bill is spent in supermarkets and major stores, we've aligned with of the UK's major retailers to bring richer rewards for people's everyday spending." According to research by American Express, the average British family spends £18,000 every year on everyday expenditures, including food, entertainment and utilities, which amounts to over £200 in reward points every year. © Copyright |
