Consumers looking to get extra from their bank card may be interested in the launch of Barclaycard Freedom. The scheme will be the widest reaching retail reward system ever operated in the UK, and will allow consumers to benefit from shopping at a wide range of shops and restaurants. Rewards will be added to the card at the point of purchase and the average reward will be one per cent of the purchase price. Sarah Newman, managing director of Barclaycard Freedom, said: "The breadth of Barclaycard Freedom offers customers the chance to earn Reward Money when they do their weekly shop, go out for a meal or shop online. Barclaycard Freedom offers our cardholders something for nothing on top of the benefits they already receive." The scheme will also offer rewards at small and medium sized high street retailers in an effort to help businesses who have suffered during the recession. Barclaycard is a popular brand in the UK with almost 12 million customers recorded in 2009. © Copyright |
