The Observer (Business and Media) In the past two weeks, a number of the top-paying fixed-rate savings accounts have been pulled, among them one from the Post Office, which was offering 3.7% for savings locked away for a year, and both the Co-operative Bank’s and Britannia’s three-year 5% accounts. According to Andrew Hagger of comparison website Moneynet.co.uk, savers coming out of high-paying, fixed-rate accounts are desperately looking for good deals to move into, with the result that providers quickly become oversubscribed.
