Daily Telegraph – 11th February 2009 The Bank of England released figures yesterday showing that returns on all types of savings accounts have dropped to a historic low, and average rates are the worst since records began. Andrew Hagger, from the price comparison website Moneynet.co.uk, said: ‘With many savings accounts offering such poor rates, it’s now worth investigating some of the interest-paying current accounts, where you can get a far better return.’ |
