parental apathy wastes child savings

The first families to benefit from the government’s child savings scheme will begin receiving their top-up payments next week.

 

Andrew Hagger, head of communications at Moneynet.co.uk claimed the scheme would enjoy more success with a slightly different approach.

“Maybe if the government agreed to top up the account with £50 every year for the first ten years – provided the parents invested a similar amount each year – it may have had more of an impact.”
