The idea of making a will is a sensitive topic for many people; the stress caused by the thought of dying or losing a loved one may stop many from discussing the concept of will writing all together.
Despite this, it is essential that you make a will before it’s too late, as you may not realise the implications of not having made one.
Whether you come from a large family or are a single parent, writing a will is a necessity for anyone with family to think about.
How soon is too soon?
Most people don’t need to start will planning until their late thirties or early forties, unless they have a specific reason to create one earlier.
That being said, you can never be sure what tomorrow will bring and you will not be penalised for writing a will in your twenties.
Similarly, you can always update your will to suit your current financial situation or relationship stage. It is better to create a will ‘too soon’ than to not have one at all.

If you have a hereditary medical condition or a history of illness in your family, you may want to start making your will slightly earlier.
