Life insurance 'provides financial security for families'

While many households might be struggling with their finances, it has been said having life insurance could provide them with some security.

Head of protection at insurance provider Aviva Louise Colley has suggested that this form of cover will mean that if a loved one should pass away, the rest of the family will not have to be concerned about how they will support themselves.

She said: "Families can know that in the sad event of a loss of income through death, there is one less thing to worry about."

Ms Colley noted that signing up to life insurance costs from £5 a month, with the protection specialist saying this can "offer invaluable peace of mind for anyone with financial dependents".

Her comments echo those recently made by Annie Shaw, director of Cashquestions.com, who said in the event of one parent dying, life insurance could help pay the mortgage and childcare, which would allow their partner to continue to work and support the rest of the family.
