Mortgage holders offered 0.2% drop to Nationwide's fixed rate
Mortgage holders could be please to hear that Nationwide has announced that it has decreased the interest rates for all its three-year fixed rate mortgages by 0.2 per cent.
While there has been little difference between the interest rates of competitors on the high street recently, a small fall like this could matter for homeowners struggling with their repayments.
"Whether you're buying a house, remortgaging or switching at the end of your Nationwide mortgage deal, you'll be able to take advantage of our improved three-year fixed rates," said Martyn Dyson, head of mortgages at the building society.
He added that customers who switch will receive £300 cash-back.
Meanwhile, homebuyers might notice that there are more high loan-to-value (LTV) mortgages on the market than there were last year.
Nationwide and Northern Rock have both started to offer 90 per cent LTV products, which could boost the housing market and give consumers greater choice.
